Clothe Yourselves With Humility

Today I'm focusing on being humble or humility before God. As I read the Bible verse in the 1st book of Peter chapter 5 verses 5-7 I was truly inspired to share this word with you. Humility is not a sign of weakness! Humility is putting aside all pride and arrogance, so that you can receive the full gift of God's grace, and help.

 Many times it's difficult for believers in Christ to put aside pride and arrogance.  I assure you this, God will humble the prideful. In the book of Matthew chapter 23 verse 12 Jesus says the following:

    For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. 

You must have a humble spirit before God and in all things give thanks to Him. Make sure that you give God all the credit for your accomplishments. He allows you to work, and because of your faithfulness blesses you with more! God opens doors for you so again credit belongs to Jesus! When you read verse 5 it says; All of you clothe yourself in humility toward one another. So not only do you have to humble yourselves before God, but also with your brothers and sisters in Christ. 

Here is the full bible verse from 1 Peter 5:5-7:

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,

“God opposes the proud

    but shows favor to the humble.”

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
